No. The CYKEL App requires CYKEL Hub to convert the signals that come from the eBike's controller. Without CYKEL Hub, the App would not be able to display any information.

CYKEL Hub will be avalible from Kickstarter starting March 2024 (North America only). We will be making the CYKEL Hub avalible in Europe in late 2024.

CYKEL Hub comes with 2x NFC access cards that can bypass the lock. Simply tap the access card against the CYKEL Hub and a sound will play confirming your eBike is unlocked and ready to ride. We advise to keep one of these access cards with you in a safe location whilst riding.

eBike controllers can only transmit and receive one signal at a time. Because of this you can only use your eBike’s existing display or the CYKEL Hub and not at the same time.

The benefit of this approach is so you are not doubling up on information by having effectively two displays in use which will use more of your eBike’s battery. The second reason (and the one we think is more important), is we believe this will make it more difficult for your eBike to be stolen.

This is because there will be no screen on the eBike when not in use and the CYKEL Hub acts as an immobilizer and needs to be connected to the CYKEL App in order for information from your eBike’s controller to the motor.

We aim to be compatible with as many eBike brands as possible. We know each brand offers a different way to interact with their eBike. We have seen a small percentage of eBikes with a combined button pad and display and because of this we are in the process of developing our own button pad that can connect directly to the CYKEL Hub and control your eBike.
